The game I’m about to present you is one of a kind. It will blow you mind with quantum physics blended into a mystery novel!

INFO:

Remember 11: The Age of Infinity is a Japanese visual novel produced by KID, originally released on March 18, 2004 for the PS 2. Now also avabile on PC, PSP and smartphones (Android/IOS7). Officialy never translated, but you can easily find the fan-made english patch on the Net. Apparently KID, running out of money, rushed to publish 2 out of 3 planned routes with an enigmatic ending.

PLOT:

The game begins with young female psychology student Kokoro Fuyukawa being on board a flight as she heads towards the SPHIA (Specified Psychiatric Hospital for Isolation and Aegis) to meet a patient Keiko Inubushi. The plane crashes on Mount Akakura. She takes shelter from the blizzard in an emergency cabin with three other suvivors. If this weren’t enough she experiences a bizarre phenomenon of multiple „consciousness movement”, shifting into a body belonging to young male body, Satoru Yukidoh, who seems to be a patient at SPHIA. Is it a dream? Probably not, because during her „absence”, her body acts and introduces itself as Satoru Yukidoh. Could she had developed a DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) due to a plane crash?
The situation seems to indicate something a lot more sinister.

MECHANICS:

A Visual Novel is an interactive fiction game, a combination of a novel and a comic-book, where we decide how the protagonist will act in crucial moments. Remember11 has only two routes. At first we follow Kokoro, and only after we complete her part of the story, can we enter Satoru’s route.

SPOILER-FREE GUIDE:

 

KOKORO ROUTE

+ Stay close to Yuni. You can trust him fully.
+ Mentaly Lin is the weakest link in the group. Nonetheless Seiji also can break down. You need to skillfully resolve tensions in the Kokoro group. So alternate between agreeing with Lin and Seiji, it should prevent you from obtaining the bad ending. I will mark crucial choices blue.
+ Some of choices automatically lead to the bad ending. I will mark them red.
+ Satoru understands the situation in SPHIA better, therefore his advice can save your life.
+ The utmost important montaineer rule. If you loose your orientation in the blizzard, you will die. Seek out a landmark. Moving without one will get you killed.
+ Escape is the best defence.
+ You can generally trust Utsumi.
+ Let your heart lead you in the decision that you make. ;]

SATORU ROUTE

+ Don’t trust anyone. Everybody lies.
+ your bed is you best friend.
+ Escape is still the best defence.
+ Don’t lie to Utsumi.
+ Let your reason lead you in the decision that you make. ;]

IMPORTANT NOTE! If you got this ending the first time playing through Satoru’s route, then there’s no way to continue any further. The only way to continue is by playing Kokoro’s route all over again and getting to her Good Ending. Only then can the game continue.

MY COMMENTS:

While it’s true, this game won’t give you all the answers on a silver plate and you will have to independently put clues together and decide who lied to you and when, it is not impossibile to find elegant solution to the whole plot.
